Whale Watching in West Sac

Within the past couple of days, two humpback whales have managed to swim into the San Francisco bay and get lost. Strangely enough, they were found in the deep water channel in West Sacramento! This means that currently, there are two whales swimming around less than 2 miles from our house. New reports say that the whales appear to be injured, most likely from a boat propeller. Many different agencies are working together to lure the whales back to the ocean by using microphones to transmit whale noises in the direction they should be heading. So far, their efforts have failed. It makes me wonder what officials are going to do if two whales end up being stranded in the Sacramento River...
