Wedding Season
Most wedding seasons begin in late May or early June and last through the summer. However, ours is just getting started. Tomorrow marks the official beginning of a wedding season that we will not soon forget. The biggest reason is because in the next three months, we have three weddings (four if you count the one that we can't afford to attend), and they are all in Pennsylvania. Better yet, either Jamie or me (or both of us) are participating in all three!
So tomorrow, we will board our first (of three) red-eye flight, arrive in Pittsburgh early on the morning that we're expected to attend our first (of three) rehearsal and dinner, and party it up the following day at our first (of three) wedding and reception before flying home as early as possible the next day in order to miss the least amount of work.
I have made two major observations regarding this series of events. First, Jamie's and my master plan for staying ahead of the game for when all of our friends planned destination weddings in the Napa/Sonoma, Monterey, or Tahoe regions of beautiful, sunny California has failed miserably. The second observation, which is not totally unrelated to the first, is that it's been awhile since we've heard of anyone's plans to come visit us in beautiful, sunny California. We've merely had one set of visitors during the entire summer. What is my point, you may ask? Step up and come visit us, dammit! And while you're here, you might just think it is so beautiful that you end up planning a destination wedding...
